Calendar and Check Book Check-In

What are Your Values?

How can these essential aspects of a business be so difficult to describe? We know it when we see it.

Gloria Steinem framed it this way: “We can tell our values by looking at our checkbook stubs.”

Checkbooks have faded but that truth has not.

If the values are off it might be the culture.

First, check the people. Hiring is so so so important

Second, check the incentive. When good people make the wrong choices it’s because of incentives. Are your short-term and long-term incentives aligned? Do people know? Does what your measure matters?

In his best-selling book, Atomic Habits, James Clear wrote, “Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.”

Every action demonstrates values.

What are yours?
