But for the folks who’ve been quietly building for years, their time is quickly approaching.

Dr. Shivdev Rao has been patient.

After ascending to the heights of cardiology, Dr. Rao entered the new enterprises arm of his hospital to seed new medical technologies as a capital allocator of the hospital’s resources.

There he saw novel software applications and created an application to help doctors and patients simultaneously.

His product, Abridge, uses the natural language processing developed by projects like OpenAI and adds its own database of medical terminology.

The result is a 3rd ambient attendee to doctor-patient interactions. It takes perfect notes of the conversation and saves every technical detail to spare our lossy human memories.

It’s an incredibly impressive technical feat that has taken years to build. None of the best stuff happens overnight.
